Leaders of the left parties today hit the streets against the abrogation of Article 370 by the BJP government. Leaders like Brinda and Prakash Karat, Sitaram Yechury of the CPI(M), D Raja of the CPI and Dipankar Bhattacharya of CPI(ML) were seen at the protest at Jantar Mantar. In a press statement released earlier today, the CPI(ML) called the act a ‘coup against the Indian Constitution’. The left parties have called for a nationwide protest on 7th of August, 2019.
