CITU grieves the loss of beloved Punjab leader Raghunath Singh

Party members paid homage to the beloved leader who struggled for the state peasantry

Vice President and Punjab State General Secretary of the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) Comrade Raghunath Singh passed away on December 20, 2020 at the Fortis hospital in the state’s Mohali district.

Singh, who was also the State Secretariat Member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI-M) breathed his last at the hospital where he was under treatment for post Covid-19 complications.

CPI(M) State Secretary Sukhwinder Singh Sekhon conveyed his heartfelt condolences on behalf of the Punjab Secretariat to family members and relatives on this tragic loss to kin and Party alike.

Many prominent personalities in the area have expressed grief over his death such as CITU members Lotte Ram Lal, Rambruchh Yadav, Sonu Kumar Gupta, Vinod Tiwari, Jagdish Chaudhary, Sonu Paswan, Amarjeet Singh, Joginder Ram, Hanuman Prasad Dubey Amarnath Kumkala.
 

he beloved leader ventured into peasant struggles in his student life where he became the leader of the Students Federation of India (SFI). After completing his education, Singh joined the labour organisation CITU and stayed there as a full-time worker for the interests of the working class until his final days.
