But what is more worrying is that this slowdown is also being accompanied by significant increase in financial fragility which manifests itself in various forms. In his talk at a seminar titled ‘Dreams and Reality: Unpacking India’s Economic Crisis’, Professor CP Chandrasekhar from Jawaharlal Nehru University talks about how this problem is not a cyclical one, but is a deep, long-term and structural problem.
