Directly provocative statements being made in a speech reportedly delivered by representatives of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) are heard on a video that has been in viral in Gujarat since the night of March 19. Provocative statements have been made targeting Christian institutions located on Irana Road, Kadi. The Priests staying nearby and the nuns of Sandhya Vishram and Madhurya Bhavan have demanded protection from potential violence from the local police.

There are sexually explicit and gendered threats made against nuns in the speech and derogatory statements against the Pope.

The language used in the video is abusive and vilifies Christian nuns and the Holy Father Pope who is the head of the head of the Christian Catholic Church. Objecting strongly that such hate speech violates the law and goes against the spirit of the Constitution, complainants have demanded that an FIR be registered under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 153-a, 153-b, 153-C, 295 and 505.

Transcription of the Video:

There is a nun, in near Irana village… Have you seen ?

If you go further on left, there is a Christian Ashram…in their language (audience laughs)…

If you go further from there, there is Unteshwari Mata Mandir.

There is a nun.

When nuns are given wows, they are told that from today Pope is your husband.

How many nuns are there as of now ?

Today there are 6,000 such nuns

 Then who committing adultery ?

(Crowd replies) Pope.

Who Pope or Lord Krishna ?

(Crowd replies) Pope.

It is said that one who commit adultery has no right to live on earth

How long will you tolerate this?

That’s why all Fathers, Brothers, Mother, Nun, Sister, Pope

You should get Irana Mukt of these….

Then go ahead…

All you Bajarang Dal members you decided that this Irana will be Uteshwari Mata Shrine and no person with Dagala will be allowed…

So second agenda is to remove Christians
