Titoli, Haryana: Where Muslims Live in Fear of Being Lynched

Recently, Titoli had been in the news for a controversial ‘farman’ issued by the village Sarpanch.

Titoli village in Haryana’s Rohtak district, with a population of around 17,000, has been home to Muslims from the Dhobi community for decades. At the time of Partition, the people from this community had taken up Hindu names, wanting to remain in their ancestral village.
