Karnataka farmer protesters have begun talks for future agitations against the central government’s three farm laws as the indefinite strike in Bengaluru city reached its final day on December 31, 2020. State’s farmers, workers and minority groups started a Unified Struggle of Farmers, Dalits and Workers coalition group to denounce the three farm laws from December 16 to Thursday.

Members have decided to hold meetings on January 3 to confirm future demonstrations. Moreover, another meeting will be held on January 6 to decide a course of action when Karnataka Assembly meetings begin in February.

According to Coordinator Byyareddy G. S., one of the coalition groups, have planned a youth campaign as early as January 1 to discuss the issue of the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance & Farm Services Act, the Farmer’s Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act.

Similarly, the Sunday meeting will also consider decentralised forms of protest that could culminate on January 26 along with Delhi protests. Leaders will consider the possibility of a media team from Karnataka to ensure better coverage of southern state protests.
