LAHORE, DELHI, BANGALORE
Two prominent women’s delegations, exchanging visits between India and Pakistan between March and May, 2000, the second led by veteran human rights’ crusader, Asma Jehangir, certainly broadcast the message for peace even though hostilities between the two establishments did not seem to diminish. The month of April also saw the fifth Pak-India People’s Forum for Peace and Democracy convention hosted at Bangalore where about 100 Pakistanis and Indians each participated. Resolutions were passed on issues integral to the forum, on peace, nuclearisation and Kashmir. Many Pakistanis took the opportunity to visit different parts of India after the convention.
