Since the time that the intent of what became the CAA Amendment of 2019 was conceived and found its way into the BJP’s 2014 manifesto, its intent has been divisive and exclusionary; the threats issued time and again by the minister for home affairs that CAA 2019 would follow a “chronology” –All India NPR and NRC—made the intent worse; insecurity and social upheavals will be the result of this cynical diktat

Not only are the Balochis and Ahmadiyas from Pakistan abandoned under this skewed law, but so are Uyghur Muslims of China and Tamil Hindus or Sri Lanka

On February 17th in Vadodara, Gujarat, an 8-year-old student studying in class 3 was targeted and reportedly abused by his fellow classmates. Reports suggest that similar incidents of discrimination have happened in the school earlier as well.

The hijab ban continues to evoke student protests against Muslim girls wearing the hijab, as a recent case from a private college in Karnataka reveals a girl wearing a hijab was told to remove it after students protested against her wearing the head covering.

A disturbing video has recently gone viral from Delhi's Inderpuri area, where the video captures the shocking actions of a police officer kicking and slapping Muslim men engaged in Friday prayers on the road Makki Jama Masjid.

It has been 4 years since the north east Delhi communal violence took place. However, the court case has seen a rocky road with several acquittals, with the court rapping the Delhi police for “shoddy investigation”, amidst all of this, the casualty continue to be the survivors of the violence.

 On February 28, in Karanataka’s Ramanagara, Grace Community prayer hall was attacked and vandalised.

The rally organised by the Sakal Hindu Samaj took place last weekend and saw BJP Leader Nitesh Rane, amongst others, make speech calling out ‘Jihadis’ and accusing people of bringing in ‘Bangladeshis’, and ‘Rohingya’ to conduct riots.
