Clashes erupt between two groups in Adampur, Varanasi

It was said that the fight erupted when a few people from one group played tunes on a loud music system and when crossing the opposing group.

Varanasi: Clashes erupted between two groups in Adampur, Varanasi late Sunday night. According to a report in Hindustan Samvad, five people were injured in the clash between two groups near Hanuman Fatak. 
 
It was reported that affected people cornered the Adampur Police station after the event which prompted Assistant Deputy Minister of city Vinay Singh and SP Dinesh Kumar to arrive at the scene and get the situation under control. The injured filed a case against 20 unidentified people on Monday. 
 
It was said that the fight erupted when a few people from one group played tunes on a loud music system and when crossing the opposing group. When the other group confronted them, violence ensued. People suffered head injuries and others in the neighbourhood joined in large number thereon. The police were unable to control the mob. 
 
A statement has been recorded of Peeli Kothi resident, Mohammad Asif who named 20 unidentified persons along with Ram babu, Shubham, Sonu and Raj. The accused were charged under many sections including intent to murder, violence and intimidation. The police have promised strict action.
 
It is not yet known if this incident is related to an Oct 6 event where two groups fought on the Kajjakpura Railway Crossing where the aforementioned SP Dinesh Kumar had to bring police from 18 stations to control the stone pelting mob.
