In Khajuri Khas area of North East Delhi, one Ajay Goswami has reportedly been arrested by the Police for assaulting a Muslim man and forcing him to chant Pakistan Murdabad (down with Pakistan) slogans.
In the video on social media platforms, Goswami can be seen holding the collar of the victim, forcing him to chant ‘Pakistan murdabad’ and ‘Hindustan zindabad’ (long live India). Another person in the background, tells the victim to raise his voice even as the victim requests the attacker to stop beating him. However, he picks him up and throws him on the ground.
After the gruesome video went viral on social media, the North East Delhi Police took cognisance of the matter and tweeted, “A video of Khajoori Khas incident is in circulation on social media. Cognizance of the incident has been taken and a criminal case has been registered. The accused has been arrested and investigation of the case is in progress.”

Scroll.in reported that one Deepak, who recorded the video has not been arrested yet. The perpetrator Ajay Goswami (32), a resident of Old Garhi Mendu village, was arrested last year on charges of rioting and was released on bail recently, as per The Indian Express.
The DCP, Sanjay Kumar Sain told the IE, “Goswami has also been involved in a Northeast Delhi riot case. However, the incident has no connection with the riot case. Further investigation is underway.”
NDTV has also reported that the aggrieved victim has been allegedly involved in a murder and robbery case. DCP Sain told Scroll.in, “On Tuesday, the man was allegedly trying to enter Goswami’s dairy, purportedly with an intention to steal, when he was caught.” But the police have not registered any case against the victim.
On March 13, another hate crime was reported in Ghaziabad when the Police arrested a Hindu man for hitting a young Muslim boy for he entered the Dasna Devi temple to drink water. The brutal video was circulated on social media after which the Police took cognisance of the matter.
In the video, the accused Shringi Yadav, kept slapping the 14-year-old boy, twisted his arm, dropped him to the ground and kicked him all over. CJP has approached the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) and National Commission for Minorities with a complaint against this assault and the subsequent justification of the same by Hindutva leader Yati Narsinghanand Saraswati.
