In Bangalore to celebrate Gauri Lankesh’s extraordinary life, young firebrand leaders Umar Khalid, Richa Singh, Shehla Rashid, Kanhaiya Kumar and Jignesh Mevani reminded the Sangh parivar that the power of the pen is mightier than their bullets. That if, in life, Gauri was a threat to forces of hatred because of her ability to bring like minded people together; now, after her death, she has the ability to inspire an entire generation of opposition leaders. The evening’s highlight was of course the unannounced arrival of Irom Sharmila, who stood in solidarity with every Indian who is fighting for the spirit of India. In this extraordinary session moderated by Teesta Setalvad, one after the other, writers like Kumar Buradikatti, leaders like Richa Singh, Kanhaiya Kumar and Jignesh Mevani regale a jam packed town hall in their well known style. Watch to find out more.
