Three years after his arrest,, Masud Ahmed, Jamia Millia Islamia student who was arrested while en route to Hathras in October 2020 along with journalist Siddique Kappan and a UAPA undertrial prisoner, has been granted bail in a case registered by ED

However, he will remain in jail since he is yet to get bail in the UAPA case against him. Earlier, Masud Ahmed’s brother, Monis Ahmed had said his brother dreamt of becoming a civil servant, but his dreams were shattered after his arrest.

“My brother always stood for justice. He is being treated like a terrorist for speaking up for the Hathras Dalit rape victim,” said Monis, brother of jailed Jamia Millia Islamia student and the former leader of Campus Front of India. Khan had denied the police’s allegation that Ahmed had planned to incite violence at Hathras.
