The Kashmir Files: Right-wing outfits bring weapons inside theatres!

Two known hate offenders Swami Jitendranand Saraswati and Vinod Sharma spread inflammatory speech in cinema halls in front of children

Hate offender and genocide monger at the Dharma Sansad in Hardiwar, Uttarakhand Swami Jitendranand Saraswati brought a trishul to The Kashmir Files screening around March 23, 2022 to instill communal sentiments among the audience that included children.

On Wednesday, AltNews reporter Muhammed Zubair shared a clip of Saraswati talking to audience members after the end of the movie. Addressing the group around him he said, “You think that you are safe here but you are not. You have no preparation… They are present in Badwani, Madhya Pradesh and every part of India. They’re a threat to the whole world.”

Citing various gory scenes in the movie, Saraswati attempted to spread anti-Muslim sentiments asking people to stay away from the community “as people stay away from Corona”. Accusing Muslims of dividing the country, he called for nationalist sentiments to protect Hindus.

An aide to serial offender Yati Narsinghanand, the Swami is the General Secretary of Madan Mohan Malviya’s – a personality respected by the RSS – NGO Ganga Mahasabha. As such, the right-wing proponent spread this hate in front of children, who had just watched an ‘A’ rated movie. However, Jitendranand didn’t stop there. He continued his speech to state that Hindus need to pick up arms to protect themselves.

“What has Bholenaath [Lord Shiva] taught us? He didn’t teach us only to eat bhaang. He taught us that in order to defend ourselves, we should pick up… [his aide answer “weapons”],” he said as he held up a garlanded trishul.

According to the Swami, Kashmiri Pandits would have survived if they had picked up arms and been ‘Hindus’ instead of simply Pandits. In a place that generally does not allow tiffins or even packaged food from the outside, the right-wing group displayed a threatening weapon.

Yet, peddling sharp weapons is not new for this Swami. Last year, a viral video circulated wherein Saraswati described a sword as “maa ki prisamagri” and encouraged every Hindu house to obtain the arms per person in the family.

“All of you should have this prisamagri. I am explaining this to you in legal terms. If you are wondering where to get it, our organisation has provided a number to deliver these [swords] to you,” he said in the video.

According to The Wire, Saraswati also launched a ‘red jihad’ campaign around this time to cripple Muslim economically and driver them out of informal trade and social life. In the cinema theatre, he was accompanied in this endeavour by Jantar Mantar hate speech-accused and Sudarshan Vahini President Vinod Sharma.

In 2021, the Delhi court looking into the Jantar Mantar incident refused bail to Sharma stating that while he may not have delivered the anti-Muslim sloganeering and hate speeches, “he was instrumental in organising the protest at Jantar Mantar”.

No longer behind bars, Sharma came with Saraswati and directed people “not to buy things from Jihadis”. Speaking on his behalf one of his aides said that Badwani will suffer tragedies similar to those shown in The Kashmir Files if people do nothing.

“We need to make two resolutions. That we will not give our garbage to Jihadis and we will not buy from them. If we break their economic backbone, then India will be a heaven, like Kashmir once was,” said the aide.

A day before, Sharma even promoted the movie and asked people to give one ticket each to Hindu women by saying, “Gift at least one ticket to one Hindu woman so that she is not trapped in Love Jihad by these pigs [Muslims].”
