Shah Faesal, the founder of the political party ‘J & K Peoples Movement’ has been vocal in his dissent over the situation in Kashmir, more so after the scraping of the special status of Kashmir.
There were speculations as to where he was headed when he was detained at the Indira Gandhi International Airport on Wednesday, with some saying he was going to Harvard while others claim he wanted to fly to Istanbul. Shah Faesal has been detained under the People’s Security Act.
Nearly 150 students, faculty and alumni members of the Harvard University came out in support of Faesal, who has also been a Harvard student and demanded not only his release but also that of other political leaders who have been arrested.
