Mumbaikars march in silence to pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi

On the occasion of the 71st Death Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on the 30th of January, a citizen’s collective is organising a silent march at 3 pm from Mani Bhavan, Grant Road to August Kranti.

Mumbai: On the occasion of the 71st Death Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on the 30th of January, a citizen’s collective is organising a silent march at 3 pm from Mani Bhavan, Grant Road to August Kranti.
 
“Let us pay homage to the father of our nation. Let us dedicate this day to an inclusive India, for Communal Harmony, Peace and Non-Violence. We will stand in silence at precisely 5.17 pm when Bapu was slain,” the collective said in a statement.
 
Dr. G G Parikh, Feroze Mithiborwala, Jayant Dewan, Madhu Mohite, Sharad Kadam, Varsha Vidya Vilas, Sheikh Mohammed Hussein, Salim Alware, M A Khalid, Ravi Bhilane, Guddi, Afroz Malik and Smita Salunke will be a part of the march as a people’s initiative.
