Aditya Rawal, a member of Vishwa Hindustani Sangathan has taken objection to the sale of the product like Shilajeet, since it’s using the name of the brand Patanjali – which is also the name of a revered saint of Hindus.

According to the news report, Rawal has alleged that use of a saint’s name to sell a product to enhance sexual prowess hurts religious sentiments.

Rawal's advocate S R Ya dav said that Rishi Patanjali has a very high status in the Hindu traditions and he is believed to be an incarnation of mythical serpent Ananta. It is not proper to associate the sale of a product like Shilajeet with Rishi Patanjali, as reported by TOI.

The PIL was filed last month, but the court has asked the petitioner to supply requisite documents with the petition by November 16.The hearing on this plea is therefore expected to take place later this month.

Yoga guru Ramdev's Patanjali sells Shilajeet capsules that claims to be consisting of extracts of herb shilajeet supposed to be one of the best natural anti-aging products and an aid to increase immunity. The product's website also claims, “Patanjali Shilajeet capsule is useful for sexual dysfunctions in men. It helps in boosting sexual stamina in men… Patanjali shilajeet capsule is a natural aphrodisiac and helps to enhance the quality and quantity of sperms.“

Rawal had filed a PIL earlier this year seeking ban on release of Salman Khan-starrer Sultan by citing his objectionable rape remark, reported TOI.
