Rs 100 crore laundered just before Janardhana Reddy’s daughter’s wedding: Suicide note

Mining baron and former BJP minister Janardhana Reddy had allegedly laundered Rs 100 crores of untaxed money just before his daughter’s five-star wedding last month, claimed a driver in his suicide note just before killing himself yesterday.

Driver KC Ramesh, according to NDTV, had worked for a government official, who, as the suicide note alleged, assisted Reddy in his money-laundering for a 20 percent commission.

A police case has been filed against the official, Bheema Nayak, for abetment of suicide.

While millions of Indians may be feeling the pain in the absence of no access to their own hard-earned money because of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s demonetisation announcement, Reddy’s internationally-headlined wedding had caused huge controversy.

According to an estimate, the corruption-tainted former BJP leader had splashed Rs 500 crore on his daughter’s wedding.

Reddy brothers were ministers in the BJP government headed by B. S. Yeddyurappa in Karnataka but had to resign along with the chief minister after all were implicated in mining scam.

The family’s invitation card was sent in a box with LCD screen, that played a welcome song featuring the Reddy family (Watch below).
