Mumbai: Samvidhan Jagran Yatra is back for its second rally in Mumbai. A collective of NGOs will be walking from Deonar to Dadar on Sunday Nov 25, 2018 from 12 noon to raise awareness about the constitution and to imbibe its values.

The rally will begin from Shivaji Maharaj Statue, Deonar (Panjarpol) till Chaitya Bhoomi in Dadar. November 26 is celebrated in India as Samvidhan Divas or National Law Day as it was the day when India’s constitution was adopted in 1949. It is organised in memory of Dr. BR Ambedkar’s speech in the constitution assembly on the same day.

Last year, the CPI candidate and former JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar created waves with his speech at the rally. There were discussions held on the challenges to constitutional values.

Just like last year, this year too, political outfits, NGOs and individuals will take part in the rally and have been asked not to bring any flag that represents their ideology or organisation. The group will be walking with an Indian flag. Only banners creating awareness about the constitution will be encouraged.
