The country-wide arrests, following widespread raids of activists and lawyers by different sections of the police was today mentioned before the Chief Justice of India (CJI) Dipak Misra for urgent hearing. The arrests and raids had drawn widespread condemnation.
It was senior counsel, Abhishek Manu Singhvi, who mentioned the matter before the Chief Justice of India. Since the CJI court was sitting in a Constitution Bench combination, CJI Dipak Misra has asked him to mention at 3.45 pm.
